Dear Councillor/Parish Clerk, A reminder that, in an unprecedented joint message, we’re supporting the Chief Constable, Chief Fire Officer, all of Derbyshire’s district, borough, county and city councils, the East Midlands Ambulance Trust and local NHS Trusts urging people to respect our communities by staying away this bank holiday weekend. You can share our Facebook post or please feel free to use the attached graphic in any social media channels you operate. “Many local people were left feeling vulnerable and at risk following large numbers visiting the Peak District and other parts of Derbyshire last weekend,” the joint message states. “Our message is clear – please respect our communities and please put off your visit until later in the year when Derbyshire will be fully open for business and will be able to welcome you properly. “If visitors are coming to Derbyshire to exercise, then they need to be aware that public toilets are still expected to be closed and – like the rest of the country – pubs, restaurants and cafes are also closed.” The full statement can be viewed on our website here.  Thank you for any help you can give in spreading the word – and have a good and safe bank holiday weekend. Best wishes, Jim
